Review
Wow. Stuart Pearce managed to attract over 23,000 people to his testimional, which is a huge attendance yet totally understandable and deserved. Newcastle bought, of course, a strong team and had the usual respect yet fun the game needed. The referee was Ray Pearce (totally related to Stuart - it's his brother) and our own Steve Guinan was on Newcastle's bench until Kevin Keegan bought him with 20 minutes to go. Mark Crossely was replaced by Alan Fettis at half-time but came back on in the second half (replacing Ian Woan) and scored a cracking goal.
