POINTS DEDUCTIONS!

Did you know Forest once had points deducted?
Way back in 1890 (in the second season of the Football Alliance) we were docked 2 points we earned for the 5-1 victory away at Bootle. Goalkeeper Tom Widdowson was deemed ineligible to play despite the fact he'd played several games for us already, so I assume this was a new regulation (although he also played a game in the previous season's Alliance League).
Either way, it didn't affect our league standing - we finished 5th that season, with no promotion or relegation in place.
