Review
The match was held up for 10 minutes after a second half pitch invasion following Forest's third goal. Pat Howard was sent off for arguing with a 56th minute penalty decision and, shortly afterwards, the Newcastle fans stormed the pitch. The referee took the players off for safety and once the game was resumed Newcastle scored an incredible three goals to give them a 4-3 victory. The FA had other plans though, declaring the match result void and a replay was ordered at Goodison Park. That game was a 0-0 draw; we lost the second replay (also at Goodison) 0-1.
And check out the Newcastle number 3...it was none other than our future player, manager and chairman Frank Clark.
