MAKITA TOURNAMENT
The Makita Tournament (originally known as the Wembley International Tournament) was held in Leeds (i.e. not Wembley) at the beginning of the 1992-93 season. It had been started a few seasons earlier but by 1991 was moved around the country. We joined in the fun in 1992 where came in our usual fourth place (out of four) in a tournament that included the hosts Leeds, as well as Sampdoria (the current, eventual and future winners) and VfB Stuttgart.
