BYE GAMES AND WALKOVERS
Back in the 1800's (in the early days of the FA Cup) we received Byes or Walkovers in the following games.
The final game in this list is the 1889 first-round FA Cup game against Linfield Athletic that was, to say the least, very interesting. We drew 1-1 in the first game, but Linfield scratched before the replay, giving us a free pass into the second round. However we had already travelled to Northern Ireland for the match so played the game as a friendly, losing 3-1!
