WHAT HAPPENED
Due to the First World War, a regional league of 16 Midlands clubs was established for the main part of the season, and then a smaller regional league of 4 clubs was competed for to fill the rest of the season.
At the completion of the season, Forest played Everton (the Lancashire champions) for an unofficial championship.
